America’s Fastest Growing Sport.
Your Backyard’s Biggest Upgrade.
Pickleball has exploded across the country—and for good reason. This fast-paced, addictively fun sport combines the strategy of tennis, the agility of badminton, and the reflex-testing pace of table tennis. Whether you’re chasing a college scholarship or just making unforgettable memories with your kids, the right court makes all the difference.
Austin Courts and Floors proudly installed the first-ever pickleball court in Central Texas back in the '70s. Let us help build your legacy next.
Pickleball is a paddle sport played with two or four players on a 30' x 60' court striped with 20' x 44' lines. It uses lightweight paddles and a perforated plastic ball (think wiffle ball) and is easy to learn—but hard to master.
The Basics:
- Court Dimensions:
- Recreational: 30' x 60'
- Professional: 34' x 64'
- Line Dimensions: 20' x 44' for singles and doubles.
- Net Height: 36" at the posts, 34" in the center.
- The Kitchen: A 7' non-volley zone on either side of the net. No smashing allowed here!
- Serve Rules: Underhand only, served diagonally, and just one try—no second chances.
- Scoring: Some play rally scoring, others play so only the serving team scores. Games typically go to 11, win by 2.
- Double Bounce Rule: Each side must let the ball bounce once before volleying begins.
*if your serious about the sport, you know there's WAY more rules and you probably never clicked on this part of the page. If you're just getting started, just stick to these and you'll have a blast!
Not all pickleball courts are created equal. Your surface, substructure, slope, and materials all impact:
Ball bounce consistency
- Joint safety & injury risk
- Court longevity
- Drainage and playability after weather
We custom-build for your play style, your athletes, and your terrain—no cookie-cutter solutions, no shortcuts. We're proud members of the American Sports Builders Association and follow all of the critical guidelines that are in place to protect the players and your investment.

But the court surface? Brutal. “We had these roll-out mats,” Mohammad said. “Three hundred pounds each, constantly blowing over in the wind. I can’t tell you how many hours I spent pressure washing, squeegeeing, and gluing them back down. It was becoming more of a headache than a pleasure.”
