Outdoor court flooring
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. We’ll help you mix and match surfaces so your whole space feels intentional — not like someone just dropped a slab in your backyard.
Surfacing
What Fits Your Lifestyle
When we help families choose an outdoor surface, we’re really matching the floor to:
- How you actually play
- Comfort + joint-friendliness
- Drainage and “play after rain” expectations
- Maintenance tolerance
- The bigger backyard plan
Modular Tile Systems
Best for: Multi-sport family courts, year-round outdoor use, joint-friendly play, and fast drainage with low maintenance.
Modular tiles are a favorite for backyards because they create a finished “sport surface” feel without asking you to maintain a painted hard court. They’re designed for consistent ball response, built-in shock absorption, and quick drainage — so the court gets used more often and needs less babysitting.
Why families choose modular tile
- Joint-friendlier play than traditional hard surfaces (less harsh impact)
- Fast drainage and fewer “puddle problems”
- Low maintenance (no resurfacing cycles like many acrylic systems)
Great multi-sport versatility (basketball, pickleball, volleyball/badminton with net systems, etc.)
Acrylic court surfacing
Best for: Tennis and pickleball purists who want the traditional “painted hard-court” look, pace, and ball response.
Acrylic surfacing delivers the crisp, familiar hard-court feel: clean lines, consistent pace, and a professional aesthetic. The tradeoff is that acrylic is more dependent on slab quality and typically comes with a maintenance/resurfacing lifecycle over time — especially in harsh sun/heat or on imperfect concrete.
Why people choose acrylic
-
Classic hard-court play (pace, bounce, feel)
-
Clean, pro look with sharp striping
-
Great when pickleball/tennis is the primary sport and you want that traditional response
Important expectation-setter: the slab matters
With acrylic, the base is everything. The best acrylic system can’t “outperform” a slab with:
-
drainage issues
-
movement
-
cracking or heaving
That’s why we treat base + drainage planning as part of the surfacing decision — not an afterthought.

Stage 3

But the court surface? Brutal. “We had these roll-out mats,” Mohammad said. “Three hundred pounds each, constantly blowing over in the wind. I can’t tell you how many hours I spent pressure washing, squeegeeing, and gluing them back down. It was becoming more of a headache than a pleasure.”

If you manage facilities long enough, you inherit a court that’s… technically still a court. Cracks turning into seams. Low spots holding water. Weeds doing what weeds do. Lines that look like they were painted during a sprint. And now it’s your problem.
